SAGE: A Women's History Hybrid Happening
River Spirit Music and LEWIS & KIRK MUSIC have joined forces to present this special virtual concert with the Musae 360° VR platform, where it will be broadcast live in both HD and 360° Virtual Reality simultaneously so audiences can enjoy a completely immersive experience.
SAGE, the all-women’s jazz, blues and contemporary ensemble, has dared to rise to this historic place in music with a sound that transcends time and generation. Part contemporary, part sassy, part nostalgic, these ladies deliver what every music audience is looking for, the best in the art. SAGE features Yayoi Ikawa on piano, Mimi Jones on bass, Charisa The Violin Diva on violin/vocals, Luciana Padmore on drums, Chelsea Baratz on saxophone/vocals and Chiara Fasi on violin/vocals. The group has also featured many other talented women, namely; Tia Fuller, Lakecia Benjamin, Mala Waldron, Bernice Brooks, Kersten Stevens, Camille Gainer, Ragan Whiteside, Camille Thurman, Kim Clarke, Miki Hayama, Endea Owens and Barbara Merjan. SAGE members have opened for and appeared with Ray Charles, Denzel Washington, Regina Carter, the Duke Ellington Show Choir and many others. This unique group has headlined at major Inaugural Balls honoring President Obama, Major League Baseball All Stars Games and World Classic in San Diego, JAZZMOBILE, The Waldorf Astoria, The Schomburg Center and the Martha's Vineyard Jazz and Blues Summerfest.
